Offering maximum transparency into US providers' prescribing practices
Prescribing trends in the US vary greatly over time, location, specialty, and other variables. It is generally very difficult for patients to understand, or indeed be aware of, prescription trends.
This project aims to allow patients to understand real-world prescribing practices based on data published by the CMS.
It should be noted that this data includes only Medicare Part D prescriptions, where practices might differ from the general population's. Still, whether you are a Medicare recipient or not, this information may help you understand prescribing practices a bit better.
You can search either for a specific medication or provider, and optionally narrow down to one state. "Search By Drug" will provide a list of the top prescribers of the medication in the US, or in the state you have selected.
